The National Service Scheme [NSS] is an Indian Government sponsored programme under the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India. It was launched in Gandhiji’s centenary year 1969, to establish a meaningful linkage between the campus and the community. Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, had recognized that the country could not progress in a desired direction until the student youth were motivated to work for the upliftment of the villages/community. It provides an ample opportunity in creating awareness among the students and teachers through sustained community interaction. It enhances the students to know about the dignity of labor, fellow belongingness, brotherhood, moral and democratic values so on…NSS is responsible for harvesting wealth of talents to meet the challenges of life which brings the change in the personality development of the students as well as community development. The university has been allotted Two Units of NSS by Govt. of Gujarat for the year 2021-22
TeamLease Skills University, Vadodara organized an Inauguration and Orientation programme of NSS Unit of the University on the 21st February 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. Dr. Jitendra Gavli, Director, Regional Community Science Center, Vadodara was invited as the guest speaker of the event. Prof. Dr. H.C. Trivedi, I/c Registrar of TLSU graced the occasion by his welcome address. Prof. Dr. Avani Umatt, I/c Provost of the University presided over the function.
NSS Unit with TeamLease Skills University, Vadodara organised an ‘Awareness Programme on First Aid’ on the 08th of March 2022 on the occasion of “International Women’s Day”. We had Programme Officer from Indian Red Cross Society; Mrs. Darshana Patel as the trainer.
